Bridgeport police find three shooting victims in one night – CTPost

BRIDGEPORT — Officers located three gun-shot victims in the span of a few hours early Saturday morning, Tweets from the Bridgeport Police Department indicated. It is unclear whether the incidents were related.

All three of Saturday’s shooting victims are expected to survive, police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald said in a release early Saturday afternoon.

Shots were fired near Reservoir and Woodrow Avenues, according to the first Tweet, which was posted just after 1:30 a.m. but does not specify a time for the shooting itself.

The crime left one man with possible life-threatening injuries, police said, adding that he was transported to the hospital.

Another victim was found in a car on Beechwood Avenue and transported to the hospital, according to a Tweet posted less than an hour after police announced the first victim.

Police, however, are still working to determine where the second victim was shot, said Fitzgerald, adding that because the victim was intubated, police were unable to speak with him immediately after the shooting.

The last victim was found shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Merchant Street, police tweeted. He told officers he was hit during a drive-by shooting on Reservoir Avenue, Fitzgerald’s release said.

Police say three people were injured in three shootings that happened early Saturday morning in Bridgeport.

They say the first male victim, who is believed to have been shot on Beechwood Avenue, is not cooperating with police.

Police say the second male victim was intubated and detectives were not able to speak to him. They say they are still determining where he was shot.

The third male was shot on Reservoir Avenue and officials say he told them he was struck by gunfire from a vehicle that drove by and fired shots.
