1 arrested after accidental gun discharge at McDonalds in Columbia

CALDWELL PARISH, La. (KNOE) – A woman has been arrested after an accidental gun discharge at the McDonalds in Columbia on Highway 165. It happened Thursday morning just before noon.

According to the Caldwell Parish Sheriffs Office, the person arrested was a female employee at the restaurant. They say the gun discharged when the employee accidentally dropped it. The bullet hit a water line in the ceiling, damaging the water line. No one was hurt.

COLUMBIA, La. – (11/8/18) A McDonald's employee has been arrested after a firearm she had hidden in her waistband accidentally went off inside the restaurant.

The incident happened Thursday morning around 11:30 a.m. at the McDonald's located on Highway 165 in Columbia.

Broussard faces charges of illegal carrying of weapons, illegal use of weapons, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and unlawful presence of a fire arm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance schedule II.
