Police investigate apparent murder-suicide in northeast Columbia – krcgtv.com

COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department stated a man and woman were found dead Monday morning at a Columbia residence.

Officers responded to a house in the 5700 block of Kelsey Drive and found an elderly couple died from a gunshot wound. Police said the husband had called 911 to report his wife was dead. When they arrived on scene, first responders found the man had died as well, with evidence indicating his death was from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Columbia police found Wayne and Mary Trentman dead from gunshot wounds in a home at 5704 Kelsey Drive after officers were called there at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, according to a news release. Wayne Trentman was 79 and Mary Trentman was 83.

COLUMBIA – Two people are dead after an apparent homicide-suicide at a home on Kelsey Drive, police said Monday.

Police had spent much of the morning at the home with crime scene tape up around the yard. A crime scene investigation van was also at the scene.

Officers went to the home shortly after 8:30 a.m. and found Wayne and Mary Trentman dead from gunshot wounds. According to a press release, Wayne Trentman called 911 at around 8:30 a.m. and said his wife was dead. When officers arrived, they found Mary Trentman dead, along with Wayne. Both died from gunshot wounds.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – An elderly couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide Monday in northeast Columbia.

Gallihugh said Mary Trentman battled Alzheimers, but she and her husband continued to engage with the neighborhood.

“The garage door would go up and hed bring the chairs over for her and she would sit down and they would just sit there and just wave at you,” Gallihugh said.
