CONCORD — A man was struck and killed in a traffic collision while crossing the street in Concord Friday evening, police said Saturday.
Officers responded just before 7 p.m. to reports of the collision in a westbound lane of Arnold Industrial Way, just east of Laura Alice Way, police said.

Man struck, killed by vehicle in Concord
A 71-year-old Pacheco resident was driving west on Arnold Industrial Way, police said, when he struck the pedestrian, who was in the roadway outside of the crosswalk. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
Authorities closed a portion of Arnold Industrial and Laura Alice ways for approximately three hours Friday evening while officers completed their investigation.

Officers with the Concord Police Department responded Friday at 6:58 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on westbound Arnold Industrial Way just east of Laura Alice Way.
The driver of the vehicle, a 71-year-old man from Pacheco, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police.
A section of the roadway was closed for about three hours as police conducted an investigation into the collision.
