Whole Foods Market expands grocery pickup to Dayton

Amazon, Whole Foods offering grocery delivery in Cleveland

Pittsburghers can now get Whole Foods Market deliveries through Amazon Prime Now, according to an announcement.

The offering starts Wednesday for Amazon Prime members in Pittsburgh and several other areas across the country, including Cleveland and parts of San Francisco. Members can shop online for grocery items from Whole Foods Market and have them delivered daily between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Delivery will be available in as little as an hour through Amazons Prime Now app, according to an announcement Tuesday. On orders of $35 or more, two-hour delivery is free. If you want your groceries within an hour, theres a $7.99 fee on orders of $35 or more. 

The service, launched earlier this year, is now available in 53 cities across the country and could reach more through the end of 2018, according to a news release. For more details about the grocery delivery or to shop, visit: primenow.com .

Amazon also announced that its expanding the curbside pickup option to Dayton, Ohio as well as Louisville and Omaha. That service include eight areas, but not yet New Jersey. More locations are expected to be added later this year. 

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Amazon and Whole Foods Market today launched delivery of natural and organic products from Whole Foods Market through Prime Now in Cleveland, among several other areas.     Starting today, Prime members in Cleveland can shop through Prime Now for items including fresh produce, meat and seafood, everyday staples, and other locally sourced items from Whole Foods Market. The other markets announced today are Annapolis, Louisville, North and Central New Jersey and Pittsburgh, as well as additional areas of San Francisco. Amazon launched the service earlier this year, and now its available in 53 cities.

“Prime Now delivery continues to be a hit with our customers and were excited to introduce the service in five new cities plus more neighborhoods in San Francisco,”  Christina Minardi, Whole Foods Market executive vice president of operations, said in a statement.

“And for our customers in Dayton, Louisville and Omaha, were thrilled to also offer the option of grocery pickup. Its just another way were making it even easier for more customers to enjoy Whole Foods Markets healthy and organic food,” Minardi said.

Whole Foods customers in much of north and Central Jersey who are also Amazon Prime members can now get groceries delivered to their homes.

Select alcohol is also available for delivery or pickup to customers in Cleveland, Dayton, Omaha and San Francisco.

Pickup and delivery from Whole Foods Market are available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Prime Now. Customers can also find out if these services are available in their area by asking Alexa. They simply need to say, “Alexa, shop Whole Foods,” according to the company.
