DAYTON — UPDATE @ 2 a.m: Dayton police are investigating after a man was found shot on Lexington Avenue Wednesday morning.

According to officials, a preliminary investigation revealed the victim, who is only described as a man between the ages of 30 and 40, was shot in the area of Lexington and Salem Avenues.
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating after a man was shot in a Dayton neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to a 911 about a person shot near the intersection of Lexington Avenue and N. Broadway Street just after midnight Wednesday.
Police and medics arrived on the scene. Medics took the shooting victim to Miami Valley Hospital. Police say the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say the shooting happened after a fight at a nearby BP gas station. Police say people left the gas station after the fight, before the man was shot moments later.
The 911 caller said two men were involved in the shooting. The caller described the suspect vehicle as a small SUV, black in color.
The district says it began in 1997 and since then, they have worked to create better school pedestrian safety.
