The Dayton Flyers were picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball preseason poll, which was released Thursday at media day at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., site of the conference tournament for the next three seasons.

Dayton finished 14-17 last season and 8-10 in the A-10, earning the No. 9 seed in the conference tournament. That followed two seasons in which it was the preseason favorite. It shared the title in 2016 and won the title outright in 2017.

Saint Louis is the preseason favorite and received 15 first-place votes. St. Joseph’s received four first-place votes and was picked second. Davidson, the defending A-10 tournament champion, was picked third with six first-place votes.

George Mason received one first-place vote and was picked fourth. Rhode Island, the defending regular-season champion, was picked fifth.
