Officers say they tried stopping the car, which by then turned east on Main Avenue. A short time later, the driver went into oncoming lanes in an effort to get away from police. Police say the driver was able to get back into the correct lanes and continued into Fargo on Main Avenue.
Police called off the pursuit due to safety concerns, but a short time later the driver sideswiped five vehicles that were stopped at a red light at Main Avenue and 36th Street S.
Police say the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Trevor Love of West Fargo, tried running away but was quickly taken into custody.
Love was arrested for fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, hit and run, driving under suspension, fleeing on foot, possession of a concealed weapon and drug and paraphernalia possession.

FARGO (KFGO) – One person was arrested following a chase along Main Ave. The chase began in West Fargo and ended in Fargo.
Fargo Deputy Police Chief Ross Renner says a West Fargo officer spotted a vehicle driving erratically near West Fargo High School. Renner says the driver eventually headed east on Main Ave. and hit several vehicles before the driver stopped at 36th Street near I-29.
A West Fargo woman who was driving one of the hit cars says the person being chased was honking his horn and trying to drive in between lanes of traffic. No one was hurt.
Twenty-three-year-old Trevor Love of West Fargo was taken into custody. Love is being held for reckless endangerment, fleeing, hit and run, driving under suspension, possession of a concealed weapon, and drug-related charges.
