LIVE: Fargo and West Fargo United – KVRR

When you come face to face with members of the local police force, it’s often times not under the best of circumstances.

They’re holding a family–friendly event, this Friday and Saturday night, to get some face time with the folks in their community who they work to keep safe.

Felix Wallette III, a 29-year-old male, was arrested for Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing on Foot, Driving under Suspension, Fictitious Registration, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wallette is being held at the Cass County Jail. No one was injured as a result of the pursuit.

The United events include free food and games, live music and dancing, and giveaways, including kids’ bikes.

The vehicle eventually lost control near 14th Street S. in Fargo and crashed into a light pole. The driver exited the vehicle and was apprehended by the West Fargo Police officers with assistance from Fargo Police officers after a short foot pursuit.

Fargo and West Fargo officers, along with rap artist DBP, who’s performing at the events, stopped by the KVRR Morning Show to talk with Emily Welker about the importance of community outreach and why forging bonds between kids and law enforcement can make our community a better place.

West Fargo, ND– At 1:24 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, West Fargo Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 1300 block of 13th Avenue E. in West Fargo. The vehicle fled eastbound on 13th Avenue into the City of Fargo.

According to the West Fargo Police Department, Felix Wallette III, 29, was driving a vehicle in the 1300 block of 13th Avenue East at 1:24 a.m. when an officer attempted to pull him over. Wallette allegedly fled eastbound on 13th Avenue into Fargo before losing control near 14th Street South and crashing into a light pole.

The news department has also won numerous regional and national Edward R. Murrow Awards from RTDNA (Radio-Television Digital News Association) and hundreds of awards from the Midwest Journalism Association, Associated Press and other professional broadcast news organizations. The station is the recipient of 6 national Marconi Awards from the National Association of Broadcasters.

According to police, Wallette then got out of the vehicle and ran for a short ways before being apprehended by both Fargo and West Fargo officers.

Wallette is being charged with fleeing a motor vehicle, fleeing on foot, driving under suspension, fictitious registration, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Cass County Jail. No one was injured during the pursuit.

FARGO (KFGO) – A West Fargo man is in the Cass County Jail after an attempted traffic stop in West Fargo early Fri. morning that ended when the car he was driving ran into a light pole in Fargo.
