Monmouth vs. Cal State-Fullerton- 11/18/18 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Sunday college basketball gives us the Monmouth Hawks battling the CS Fullerton Titans in the Myrtle Beach Invitational.

Khalil Ahmad kept the Titans in the game with a contest high 20 points and three yanks on 8-18 from the floor. Kyle Allman added eleven points, five boards and eight assists on 4-15 shooting while Davon Clare gave Cal State Fullerton ten points and nine rebounds.

The Monmouth Hawks have struggled to score in the early going and that trend continued in a 64-53 loss to Valparaiso that dropped the team to 0-4. The Crusaders sank half their looks but Monmouth could only respond at 39.6% which was the difference. Mustaoha Traore was the Hawks only double digit scorer with 14 points and three pulls on 7-7 marksmanship. Deion Hammond tossed in eight points on 2-8 shooting while Monmouth received seven points on 2-7 from the field.

CS Fullerton are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 Sunday games and under is 22-8 in CS Fullerton last 30 neutral site games and under is 36-15 in CS Fullerton last 51 overall. Monmouth are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and under is 5-1 in Monmouth last 6 overall and under is 5-1 in Monmouth last 6 non-conference games.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will clash with the Valparaiso Crusaders in the Myrtle Beach Invitational Sunday morning from the HTC Center.  The Demon Deacons are coming off a 66-59 win over Cal State Fullerton, and the Crusaders cruised to a 64-53 win over Monmouth on Friday night.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons opened the Myrtle Beach Invitational with an 89-69 loss to St. Josephs on Thursday, followed by a solid 66-59 win over CS Fullerton on Friday. The Demon Deacons shot a poor 33% against CS Fullerton, however they limited CS Fullerton to a 37.5% clip. Jaylen Hoard has been Wake Forests best player this season. He scored 19 points in the season opener and 16 points against CS Fullerton, and the freshman forward is averaging 16 points on the season. Brandon Childress contributed with 15 points on 4 for 11 shooting in Fridays victory. The junior guard did shoot 57% in his first two games, and he is posting 15.3 points and five assists per game.

The Demon Deacons are placed at 114th in the nation in Ken Pomeroys college basketball rankings. They are averaging 75 points on the season, ranking them 219th in the nation. Wake Forest is allowing an average of 75.3 points through three games, pegging them down at 251st overall.

The Valparaiso Crusaders improved to 2-1 on the season with a 64-53 win over Monmouth on Friday night. The Crusaders converted on 50% of their field goals in the winning effort. Deion Lavender scored a team-high 15 points in his best game of the season. The senior guard has shot over 60% in two of three games, and he is posting 10.7 PPG on the season. Crusaders leading scorer Ryan Fazekas contributed with 13 points in Fridays triumph. The junior guard has now attempted a whopping 22 threes in three games, and he owns a 36% efficiency from deep. Fazekas is averaging a a solid 15 points on the season.

The Crusaders are currently ranked at 136th in the country in Ken Pomeroys college basketball rankings. Their lone loss this season came against Western Kentucky in an 83-71 decision on Thursday. Valparaiso is averaging 85.3 points in three games on the season. They are allowing an average of 67 points.

I am taking Valparaiso in this one. Valparaiso has been sharp in both ends of the court. They are shooting a dazzling 52% in three games, and defensively they are limiting the opposition to a 39.7% efficiency from the field.

Furthermore, Wake Forest has only scored 69 and 66 points respectively in their last two games, and they own a poor 41% shooting percentage in three games on the season.

I am taking the over in this one. Wake Forest is having success from deep, sporting a terrific 40.3 % clip from three-point territory, and the over is 4-0 in their last four games following a straight up win.

Furthermore, Wake Forest will give up points. Opponents are shooting 45% against them this season, and their three-point defense ranks down at 329th in the country, plus the over is 9-3 in their last 12 games overall.
