HAYWARD (CBS SF) — Police in Hayward are searching for suspects in connection with an officer-involved shooting Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police said the incident happened on the 28000 block of Capitola Street in Hayward at about 3 p.m. Monday. Authorities did not have many details to offer, but said that no officers or residents were injured during the incident.
HAYWARD, Calif. (BCN/KTVU) – An officer involved shooting in the 28000 block of Capitola Street in Hayward about 3 p.m. is under investigation, Hayward police said Monday on the department's Facebook page.
Police did not confirm whether any of the suspects were hit by gunfire from the officers or what led the officer to discharge their weapon. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a vehicle.
Hayward police investigate officer-involved shooting
Police were working to get a detailed description of the suspects and the vehicle to distribute to the public as the investigation into the incident continues.
As of about 9 p.m., Hayward police confirmed that they still had a perimeter set up in the area of the shooting and were searching for the suspects in the incident.
Police said they were conducting interviews with people in the neighborhood. Police have no one in custody and still have not offered a suspect description.
Police said no officers or residents were injured, and that suspects were last seen leaving the area in a vehicle.
