First year infielder Nic Kent was named First Team All-ACC at second base after a stellar rookie season for the Hoos. Kent has started 50 of the teams 54 games this season and appeared in 53 of them. Second on the team in average with a .333 average, he also boasts a .414 on base percentage, 37 runs scored, and is tied for the team lead with 41 RBI. Kent was also named to the All-Freshman team.
Second year Tanner Morris was named to the Third Team All-ACC team at shortstop after being named to the All-Freshman team last year. Morris has started all 54 games for the Hoos after a stellar first-year season and lead the team in 2019 in average at .353, hits with 76, runs with 54, slugging at .521, on base percentage at .460, and tied with Cameron Simmons for the team lead with five home runs. He has also earned 40 walks on the season, 13 more than the next closest Cavalier on the team.
The Hoos kick off the ACC Tournament as the No. 9 seed on Wednesday when they take on No. 5 North Carolina at 7 p.m.
