MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) – An investigation is underway after two men were found dead overnight in Miami Gardens.
Police are on the scene along Northwest 151st Street and 24th Avenue, as they comb the area for clues and speak with witnesses.
According to officials, it all started at around 10:30 p.m., Thursday, when the two men stole a dirt bike from a home in Opa-locka.
Police said the owner of the dirt bike got in his car and chased the men, leading to a crash in Miami Gardens. One of the men died in the crash, while the other man tried to run off and was shot.
At this point, police have not yet said who shot the man. However, the owner of the dirt bike stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police.

7News spoke with the aunt of one of the two men, who said he was just 18 years old. He was a good kid, said Alicia Brown. His mother is, I mean, like, overwhelmed right now because that was her only son, and you know this is like something shes not going to live down. They done crushed my sisters world about my nephew.
“I hope I’m wrong, and it’s not him, man,” said family friend Karl Butler. “His mom is good people. He always helped people. If you need a hand, if somebody bother you or anything he’d help you.”
Police temporarily shut down Northwest 151st Street at 24th Avenue as they conducted their investigation. However, the roads have since reopened.

After two men stole a dirt bike from a man in Opa-locka Thursday night, the owner gave chase in his car, police said. A few minutes later the bike crashed in Miami Gardens and by the time police arrived, the two men who were on it were dead, police said.
Friday morning, Miami Gardens police were still trying to sort through the confrontation and figure out exactly what happened. They determined one of the men on the dirt bike was shot dead. But police still havent said whether the other man died in the crash or after being shot.
The man who allegedly fired the weapon, remained at the scene Friday morning and was co-operating with police. None of the three men involved in the incident have been named.
Theres an accident and shots were fired. One of them takes off, collapses and dies, said Miami Gardens police spokeswoman Carolyn Frazer.

Police said they received two calls around midnight. One was about some type of disturbance. The other call was about the crash, which happened at Northwest 151st Street and 24th Avenue. When police arrived, Frazer said, they soon realized the two calls were related.
One of the men was found dead at the scene of the crash. The other man managed to run from the scene, but collapsed died near a home.
A woman named Alicia Brown told Miami Herald news partner CBS 4 that one of the victims was her 18-year-old nephew.
