Silver Alert canceled for a nine month old infant in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Authorities have canceled a silver alert for a missing nine-month-old baby out of New Haven that was issued early on Thursday morning.

State Police canceled the Silver alert just after 2:15 Thursday afternoon. No further details were given.

When Troopers were searching for the child, they believed the infant was with her father, and called the case a "family abduction."

(WTNH) – Despite bright sunshine, afternoon temperatures will only be in the 40s with wind chill all day in the 30s. A widespread FROST/FREEZE scenario expected for tonight. Milder weather returns Friday afternoon and Saturday before another cold front brings the chill back for Sunday and Monday.

A grass fire was threatening an underground natural gas pipeline Thursday in the San Francisco Bay Area, forcing authorities to evacuate about 4,000 people and close an elementary school for the day, officials said.
