NEW HAVEN—New Haven police officers were sent to Yale-New Haven Hospital on the report of a stabbing victim who had been brought to the hospital’s emergency room in a private vehicle early Sunday morning.
Capt. Anthony Duff said police were told the 49-year-old male had been stabbed during a fight,which began inside a Fair Haven bar called the Calypso Lounge. The dispute continued outside the bar and ended outside the New Haven Police Department’s substation at 295 Blatchley Avenue.
The New Haven man suffered a life threatening stab wound to the abdomen and is hospitalized in critical condition, Duff said in a release.
Investigators responded to the bar, previously known as Lou’s Lodge, and the area around the substation.
