LA Kings Assign Michael Amadio to the Ontario Reign

The LA Kings have assigned forward Michael Amadio to the Ontario Reign (AHL), Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced today.

The 22-year-old (born May 13, 1996) is a 6-1, 204-pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario who has played in 13 games this season with the Kings, tallying one goal (1-0=1) and four penalty minutes.

The Kings open a three-game road trip tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports West, the FOX Sports App and the LA Kings Audio Network on iHeartRadio.

The Kings have a new coach in Willie Desjardins — who succeeds John Stevens — and its apparent that the new bench boss thinks Amadio would benefit from additional seasoning in the minors. The stats tell the tale in that regard, as LAs 2014 third-round (90th overall) pick has just one goal representing his point total in conjunction with a minus-7 rating through 13 games at the top level this season.
