ONTARIO – A 21-year-old Ontario man is dead and police arrested two individuals in connection to a fatal shooting early this morning in Ontario.

Dave Goldthorpe, Malheur County district attorney, said that the two men – whom he declined to identify because the investigation is still ongoing – will be arraigned Wednesday in Malheur County Circuit Court on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Lt. Jason Cooper, interim Ontario police chief, said this afternoon the incident began when officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Northwest 6th Street at about 12:49 a.m.

The scene was secured and the dead man lived at the residence. We are now working in conjunction with the state police, the Malheur County Sheriffs Office and the state police crime lab, said Cooper.
