UPDATE: Second victim dies from weekend shooting in Rockford

According to Rockford Police, the victim was a 29-year-old man, who was initially taken to a hospital in critical condition from injuries.

Police say three people were shot during an after-hours party. A 25-year-old woman was pronounced dead on Sunday. Another 29-year-old man remains in critical condition.

ROCKFORD — One woman was shot to death and two men were seriously injured by gunfire early Sunday near the intersection of Broadway and Eighth Street, Rockford police said.

Investigators say it happened a little before 2:30 a.m. in the area of Broadway and Eighth Street in Rockford. Police were called there for shots fired.

During that time, a 25-year-old woman and another 29-year-old man arrived at a local hospital suffering from injuries sustained during the same shooting.

One 29-year-old man was taken to the hospital for gunshot wounds. The woman and another 29-year-old man arrived at the hospital with similar injuries.

The woman died as a result of her injuries. Both men are being treated for what police say are life-threatening injuries.

According to Rockford Police, the shooting took place shortly before 2 a.m. in the area of Broadway and 8th Street. Officers were responding to a shots fired called when they found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gun shot wound.

During that time, two other people suffering from gunshot wounds from the same incident arrived at a local hospital. Another 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.

Officers responded shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 for a call of shots fired. A total of three people were struck by gunfire at an after-hours party. A 25-year-old female was pronounced dead early Sunday morning, the other 29-year-old male victim remains in critical condition. The names of the victims are not being released at this time. The woman later died at the hospital due to her injuries and then two men are being treated for life-threatening injuries.  The names of the victims have not been released.
