ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) — In the aftermath of Thursdays shooting that took McHenry County Sheriffs Deputy Jacob Keltner, businesses around the Stateline organized memorials in his honor.
Home Depot offers sale on blue light bulbs in honor of slain deputy
The Home Depot on Argus Road in Rockford is selling blue Phillips LED light bulbs at a discounted price of one dollar a piece.
The color blue recognizes and honors all law enforcement officials who have given their lives to protect ours.
Assistant store manager Chris Bartelt says he is humbled to put on this small memorial to support the family of Jacob Keltner, as well as honoring the police departments that responded to Thursdays shooting.
“It feels great to be able to do something to show our support for the community, and just like the Jaimie Cox tragedy that we had, we were able to do that back then as well,” he said. “The community has an outpouring response so its great to see the community come together as one to show support.”
