Rockford Police arrest two in connection with school threats

The first was located in the 3000 block of Cannon Street. Firefighters arrived to the home around  11:00 p.m. to find smoke showing.

Officials say the fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes. The fire caused around $55,000 worth of damage.

Two 12-year-olds arrested for school shooting threat

Details are still limited about that fire. 13 News will update this story when information is available.

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) —– Police arrested two minors in connection to threats made at a Rockford school.

Around 10 Thursday morning, officers responded to Jackson Charter School on Summit Street about a threat some students made about shooting up the school.

Investigators determined a 12-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were responsible for the threats. The two minors were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
