Police and firefighters responded to a 911 call at 4:15 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a heavily damaged sedan that was occupied by five teenagers, ages 14 to 17. The cars midsection had struck a tree in the 6600 block of Fairway Avenue Southeast.

Teen killed, 4 others injured in early morning Salem crash
Upon arrival, responders discovered that one of the passengers, a 17-year-old, was dead. The teens next of kin have been notified, but police havent yet released the teens name.

SALEM, Ore. – Police say one teenager died and four others were injured in a Salem crash early Saturday morning.
The Salem Police Department responded to a report that a vehicle had struck a tree in the 6600 block of Fairway Avenue Southeast at 4:15 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found five teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 inside the car. Four of the teenagers were taken to the Salem Hospital and to Portland area hospitals for treatment.
Police closed Fairway Avenue Southeast between Rees Hill Road Southeast and Lexington Circle Southeast during the investigation.
