A gas station on J. David Jones Parkway in Springfield sold a $1 million winning Powerball ticket for Wednesdays drawing.
The Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Shell station at 3300 J. David Jones Parkway, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery. It matched all five numbers – 8-23-27-42-60 – to win the prize. The Shell station will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Winners have a year from the drawing date — which in this case would be Oct. 10 — to claim their prize. The Lottery urges the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they can visit one of the Lotterys five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights.
Powerball drawings take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. Saturdays Powerball jackpot was an estimated $314 million as of Thursday evening.
The winning ticket is worth $1,000,000, so make sure to check your ticket if you bought one. It was sold at the Shell station located on 3300 J David Jones Parkway and matched all five numbers – 8 – 23 – 27 – 42 – 60.
The retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000 or one percent of the price for selling the ticket.
More than 34.800 players won prizes ranging from $1 to $1,000,000 in the Powerball drawing.
