Springfield woman dead after crash near New Berlin

Illinois State Police said a woman involved in a rollover crash on Old Route 54, near Farley Road, Wednesday night was transported to a hospital for injuries and later died.

The Sangamon County Coroner, Cinda Edwards, said she was pronounced deceased at Memorial Medical Centers Emergency Room at 4:59 p.m.

An autopsy was conducted in Springfield Thursday morning and her preliminary cause of death is from injuries sustained in the accident.

OLD BERLIN, Ill. (WAND) – The Sangamon County Coroner released the name of woman who died in a Thursday car crash. 

According to Sangamon County Coroner, Cinda Edwards, Carolyn Rodgers, 75, was pronounced dead at Memorial Medical Centers ER just before 5 p.m. 

Rodgers was driving on Route 54 and Farley Road around 4 p.m. At some point Rodgers car left the roadway.
