Overturned tractor-trailer shuts down I-95 in Stamford – News 12 Connecticut

The state Department of Transportation says it taking 193 minutes to travel 16 miles from the New York border to Route 7 in Norwalk.

DARIEN – Motor Vehicle Accident (2 Vehicle) on I-95 Southbound between Exits 13 and 11. The left and center lanes are closed. Reported at 9:44 am.

State Police: Minor injuries reported and the TT unit should be removed from the highway within the hour.

STAMFORD – I-95 Northbound CLOSED between Exits 7 and 8 because of Truck Accident (Overturned Tractor Tr.). Congested between Exits 2 and 8 (6.8 miles).

I-95 Northbound CLOSED between Exits 7 and 8 because of Truck Accident (Overturned Tractor Tr.). Congested between Exits 4 and 8 (3.8 miles).

On the Merritt Parkway, a two-vehicle crash has closed the northbound left lane between Exits 52 and 53 in Trumbull.

The National Weather Service says the best chance of rain is until 7 a.m. After that a chance of rain continues to around noon.

If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.
