Usher Drops Off New Zaytoven-Produced Album “A”

Well look who’s back. After announcing the project just a few hours ago, Usher decides to return to the scene today and share a brand new project called A, named after his hometown of Atlanta.

The follow up to 2016’s Hard II Love contains 8 tracks in total and features guest appearances from fellow ATLiens Future & Gunna, the latter of which who appears on the outro “Gift Shop.” Meanwhile super producer Zaytoven handles the entire production. Earlier this week there was an image of JAY-Z joining Usher in the studio prompting many to believe that Hov could be making an appearance on the album, but unfortunately that didnt happen.

Usher’s ninth LP pays homage to Atlanta, with fellow Atlanta native Zaytoven behind the boards for the eight-track set, features from Future and Gunna, and as the album trailer also depicts. The singer unveiled the visual prior to A‘s release. The video features Usher and Zaytoven cruising around the city and checking out familiar Atlanta haunts, including Cascade Family Skating roller rink and a Waffle House alongside stops at strip clubs.

Atlanta, GA – Usher took to his Instagram on Thursday morning (October 11) to reveal a joint project with Zaytoven, simply titled A.

Usher has unveiled a surprise new album, which he dropped on Thursday at midnight. The follow-up to 2016’s Hard II Love, new LP A finds the Atlanta R&B singer reteaming with producer Zaytoven.

It’s been two years since the Grammy Award-winning artist released his last album Hard II Love, and as he returns with an eight-track EP, Usher plans on showing love to the city of Atlanta.

The clip also houses snippets of several of the songs and Usher also unveiled snippets on Instagram, which showcase the new project’s trap influences alongside R&B-flavored slow jams.

Usher shared a trailer highlighting significant Atlanta spots, such as Cascade Family Skating Rink and Waffle House, to announce the EP on social media. Future and Gunna make guest appearances on the project.
