New iPhone Leak Reveals Apple\s Nasty Surprise

iPhone XR pre-orders: As Apple announces new countries, are you planning to buy? [Poll]

Apples budget-minded iPhone XR goes up for pre-order tomorrow. The handset, introduced in early September alongside the flagship iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, will be offered in a variety of colors including white, black, blue, coral, yellow and red.

The iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display that adopts Apples full-screen, notched design. Like its siblings, its powered by Apples new A12 Bionic chip and ships running iOS 12. Unlike the more expensive versions, however, it utilizes a cheaper LCD panel and only has a single rear-facing camera. It also carries a lesser IP67 rating versus the IP68 rating of the XS-class devices.

1 The iPhone XR display has rounded corners that follow a curved design, and these corners are within a standard rectangle. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 6.06 inches diagonally. Actual viewable area is less. 2 Real-time preview in Depth Control and Dual SIM support will be available soon via an upcoming free software update. Use of Dual SIM requires two wireless service plans (which may include restrictions on roaming). Certain restrictions apply to use. 3 iPhone XR is splash-, water- and dust-resistant, and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP67 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 1 meter up to 30 minutes). Splash, water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions, and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty. 4 $525 (US) is based on iPhone X. Trade-in values may vary based on the condition and model of your smartphone trade-in. Additional terms at apple.com/giveback.

Apples iPhone XR goes up for pre-order tomorrow starting at $749

A fully charged iPhone XR is reportedly good for up to 15 hours of Internet use and 25 hours of talk time. According to Apple, it lasts up to 1.5 hours longer than an iPhone 8 Plus.

There are optimistic as well as more muted opinions out there, but if you believe well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the XR is going to sell like hotcakes. Specifically, demand appears to be surpassing initial estimates, according to a recent investor note from Kuo which also notes that Apple may sell more than 38 million XR units during the 2018 holiday quarter. The wait for it, meanwhile, is almost over, as in-store availability for the XR will follow one week after preorders begin this Friday at 12:01 a.m. PST on apple.com and via the Apple Store app.

Interested parties will be able to place their order for the new iPhone XR starting at 12:01 a.m. PST on October 19. Pricing starts at $749 for a model with 64GB of on-device storage and tops out at $899 should you want 256GB. It ships a week later on October 26.

Apple also raves that its A12 Bionic chip is the “smartest and most powerful” smartphone chip, unlocking everything from new AR experiences to the potential for more games and photography capabilities in addition to delivering all-day battery life. he XR’s wide-angle lens camera has an all-new sensor that delivers Smart HDR and faster auto-focus as well as a 30 percent larger sensor with larger and deeper pixels. A new Depth Control also lets you adjust the depth of field in real-time preview as well as after capturing the image.

iPhone XR release detailed as Apple expands iPhone XS sales

Apple’s iPhone XR will go up for preorder on Friday, October 19, the company has confirmed, while also announcing new countries where the more affordable smartphone and its iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max cousins will be available. Announced alongside the iPhone XS last month, the iPhone XR brings Apple’s latest slim-bezel aesthetic to a more affordable price point, not to mention a welcome return to some brighter colors.

With a 6.1-inch screen, the iPhone XR will slot in-between the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. Apple has used an LCD panel, rather than OLED, to help keep the price down. Similarly, on the back there’s a single camera rather than a dual camera, though Apple promises you’ll still get some Portrait mode functionality which it will deliver through software.

No doubt the XR being Apple’s lower priced model — compared to the other two new iPhone handsets, the XS and XS Max — will help spur upgrades. As a reminder, the XR sports a 12 MP rear camera, a Face ID camera in the front, NFC support for Apple Pay and a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD screen, compared to the two pricier models with OLED displays.

The result is a $749 starting price, $250 less than you’ll pay for the cheapest iPhone XS. For that, you still get Face ID and the gesture navigation in iOS 12 that the iPhone XS debuted. Three storage variants will be offered: 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. Six colors, meanwhile, are available: black, white, blue, yellow, coral, and (PRODUCT)RED.

XR preorders for more than 50 countries will start on Friday, with Apple saying more than a dozen countries will be added not long after. The handset will be available in Apple Stores starting October 26 at 8 a.m. local time, the same day that iPhone XS and XS Max models will also be available in more 30 additional countries.

As of Friday, October 19 at 12:01am PST, preorders for the iPhone XR will open. Deliveries – along with in-store sales – will kick off on Friday, October 26. There’ll be more than 50 different countries and territories you can pick up an iPhone XR:
