Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse-Clemson football game earned the marquee television position for Week 3 of the college football season and will be ABCs Saturday Night Football broadcast on Sept. 14.

Edit Slot to 247Sports Home Slot to Oregon Ducks Newsletter Slot to Oregon Links Oregons season will open in primetime. The Ducks Aug. 31 meeting with Auburn will kick off at 4:30 PM Pacific Time at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game acts as the 2019 AdvoCare Classic pitting one of the west coasts top programs with one of the southeasts best. The game will be carried on ABC, per Wednesdays release.

This years SNF games will be broadcast at 7:30 p.m.. ESPN will announce its first three Saturday Night Football broadcasts of the season on Wednesday.

The appearance on Saturday Night Football, which has been broadcast since 2006, will be just the second time in Syracuses football history that it will play in ABCs marquee slot. Syracuses only other appearance on Saturday Night Football came in 2014, a 31-15 loss to Notre Dame at Met Life Stadium.

This acts as the first time in nearly a decade that the Ducks will open their season outside of the friendly home confines of Autzen Stadium. The last time they did so was in 2011 when they faced LSU in Arlington in another Pac-12-SEC clash. LSU won that meeting 40-27.

The nationally-prominent television slot is an indication that ABC/ESPN view the game as one of the days marquee options and the placement should only increase the chances of ESPN College GameDay visiting Syracuses campus for a football game for the first time.

Oregon has not faced an SEC program since 2013 when it hammered Tennessee 59-14 at Autzen Stadium. They have not faced Auburn since the 2010 BCS national title game. Auburn got the better of the Ducks in that one, winning on a late field goal by the score of 22-19.

The game seems like one of, if not the clear, best candidate for GameDay on paper. Both teams appear likely to be ranked in the national polls when the season begins, with the Tigers a very likely candidate to be No. 1.

Syracuse finished 10-3 last season and would have gone to the Orange Bowl if the game wasnt in the College Football Playoff semifinal rotation. The Orange is the last team to beat Clemson in the regular-season, winning 27-24 victory in Clemsons last visit to the Carrier Dome in 2017. The Orange was also one of Clemsons toughest games last year, falling 27-23 on the road. The Tigers went on to become undefeated national champions.

Other Week 3 games that would seem to be attractive candidates include Oklahoma at UCLA, Pittsburgh at Penn State, Alabama at South Carolina and Iowa at Iowa State.

The game is Syracuses home opener, as well as its homecoming game. Syracuse has already sold out its single-game allotment for the game, although seats are still available through three-game packs (a very limited number remain) and season-ticket packages. The lowest price for a ticket on the secondary market is currently $69 at VividSeats.com.

The list of teams that will be showcased on Saturday Night Football during the first three weeks includes many of the sports elite programs. Saturday Night Footballs opening week matchup will be a neutral site game between Oregon and Auburn in Arlington, Texas. Its second game will be LSU at Texas.

Syracuse athletic director John Wildhack announced that single-game seats to the teams football game against Clemson have sold out, and he also discussed a Tweet from last week that incorrectly said Dino Babers contract extension runs through 2024.

EUGENE — The marquee matchup of the first full weekend of college football in 2019 will be in prime time.

Oregon and Auburn will kick off the Advocare Classic at 4:30 p.m. PT Aug. 31 in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as ABCs Saturday Night Football broadcast.

The Ducks and Tigers are both expected to be ranked in a matchup that will feature arguably the best offensive and defensive lines in the country squaring off.

It will be the first meeting of the teams since the 2011 BCS National Championship game, which Auburn won 22-19 in Glendale, Ariz. Oregon is 5-7 all-time against SEC teams.

Itll be the sixth time ABCs Saturday Night Football opened the season from AT&T Stadium. One of those prior visits was when No. 3 Oregon lost to No. 4 LSU, 40-27, to open the 2011 season.

Oregon was 1-1 in games on ABC last season, losing to Stanford in overtime on Saturday Night Football and beating Washington in overtime in an afternoon game that was broadcast to part of the country via ESPN2.

Auburn is 23-33-1 all-time in games televised by ABC, including a win over Washington in last seasons Chick-fil-A Kickoff. AU is also 9-3 all-time against Pac-12 teams, including a 6-0 mark in neutral site games.
