One person shot Thursday in southeast Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Topeka Police say a woman suffered a minor injury in a shooting in southeast Topeka.

Lt. Jerry Monasmith said it is believed the situation began with a disturbance that led to the gunshots. He described the womans injury as a “grazing.” She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Detectives and crime scene investigators remained in the area, looking for evidence and talking to people in the area. Monasmith said they had located a few shell casings.

TOPEKA Kan. (KSNT) – At least one person was injured shortly after 7 p.m. at the Highland Park Apartments at SE 24th and Belleview Avenue. There were reports of a volley of shots fired and one woman taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman was described as being "grazed" during the shooting.
